The chairman of Tehran City Council is heading to Russia tomorrow to participate in the sixth International Municipal BRICS Forum to develop cross-network collaborations.

According to the Islamic City Council of Tehran, Mehdi Chamran, the chairman of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, to participate in the meeting of the International Forum of Cities of BRICS Member States (BRICS IMF) with the focus on developing cross-network collaborations in various issues with Asian countries and the Middle East, Latin America and Africa, as well as the forum of "BRICS urban climate agenda in the current conditions" tomorrow (Tuesday,Aug,27) will travel to Moscow, Russia for 4 days. Ali Asghar Ghaemi, member of the Transportation and Construction Commission of Tehran City Council, will accompany the chairman during this event.

Mehdi Chamran is scheduled to deliver speeches at the opening ceremony of this forum as well as in the "Development of parliamentary diplomacy at the level of capitals and large agglomerations in BRICS countries" and "BRICS Urban Climate Agenda" sessions.

The concept of the forum is aimed at the development of international inter-city and inter-parliamentary cooperation, the change of innovative practices in the sustainable development of macro policies. This event is supported by the President of the Russian Federation, the Roscongress Foundation, the Foreign Ministry Russia and the Government of Moscow. Since 2020, the BRICS IMF has been included in the events" official calendar of participating countries of BRICS Intergovernmental association.

It should be mentioned that according to the plans, about 5000 representatives from more than 100 countries and 80 regions of Russia will participate in this event. Also, in addition to the main program, an exhibition with the presence of participants and key partners will also be held on the sidelines of the forum in the form of B2B and B2G. , business conferences, press events, presentations by BRICS member cities and other participants will be held.
