Chamran: A good relationship between countries is beneficial for world peace / Tuan: We can have a strong relationship between Tehran and Hanoi, as long as our hearts beat for each other…

In the meeting between Chairman of Islamic City Council of Tehran, Mehdi Chamran and Chairman of Hanoi People"s Council, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan which took place on August 9, Tuan expressed his gratitude for the warm and respectful reception accorded to the delegation by Tehran City Council and called Tehran a lively and attractive city with hospitable people.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuan emphasized that because of the importance of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and strengthening political, economic, cultural and social relation, today, after 24 years, the Chairman and Speaker of the People"s Assembly of Vietnam is present in Iran on the occasion of commemorating the 50th anniversary of Iran-Vietnam relations. He added: as Tehran and Hanoi are similar in terms of demographics and also they have experienced similar challenges through history, it is an opportunity for sharing experiences in the fields of urban development, trade and investment, sports, transportation and traffic, culture, the environment and generally joint cooperation in the field of urban management.

Mehdi Chamran, stressed the importance of this visit in terms of strengthening and expanding the bonds of friendship and interaction. He added: Tehran has been one of the most important and influential cities and the political capital of Iran, which, during the revolution and the establishment of the Islamic Republic, has been the gathering place for the occurrence of important events.

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, good relations were established by the Islamic Republic of Iran with some eastern countries, especially Vietnam, which was evidenced by the presence of 3 presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran in three different periods in this country.

He also welcomed further political, cultural and social cooperation between the capitals of two revolutionary countries in line with the Memorandum of Understanding on Friendship and Cooperation between two cities and stressed that a good relationship between countries is beneficial for world peace.

At the end, Tuan extended an invitation to the Chairman of the Tehran City Council to visit Hanoi for progress and achievements in the future and added that we can have a strong relationship between Tehran and Hanoi, as long as our hearts beat for each other...
